The Seven Head Centers
Let us begin by expressing the importance of reflection and contemplation upon a teaching, be it the following information or any other, as it relates to the alignment with the Soul and ultimately the Monad. We advise that the aspirant reflect on the concepts offered, followed by contemplation during their meditative practice, allowing the Soul to provide guidance.
We offer the following concepts as a basic understanding of the seven energy centers within the head. As each aspirant journeys into expanded states of consciousness, a wider and more comprehensive understanding will unfold. There exist several interpretations of what is being presented, some of which may cause confusion or misunderstanding. Our world is filled with glamour and illusion on this topic as well as other teachings, as such, we recommend constant discernment and discrimination. Hence, the importance of reflection and contemplation during meditation, it is here that we find the truth and resolve any confusion.
Additionally, we do not encourage the attention or energetic focus on any one energy center, as this may cause an overstimulation or attrition of the center, hindering the natural unfoldment. The exercises offered in the following information is not considered to be a direct focus on any one center, it is simply an observation of energy as it circulates through a triangle of force activated by the meditative process and right activity.
If there is to be an active focus upon any aspect of the form, let it be directed upon the etheric form, as this is the instrument that will deliver the life-giving force for transmutation, transformation, and transfiguration. By focusing on the energy, pranic, planetary, or cosmic, moving through the etheric form we can attune the related three aspects of form and precipitate radiant health, balance, and harmony. This is an additional topic that may prove beneficial to those on the Path of Return.
The first three centers (A, B, C) represent the Sahasrara Triad, and are related to and are fully activated upon the anchoring of the Monad. As the Light of the Monad blends with the Soul these centers become active as a natural unfoldment. There is information concerning these centers, however, they have no relevant application until there has been a conscious connection to the Monad.

As an active part of the information presented below, we have included a form meditative technique that has been offered by our Beloved Brother of Light, Master Djwhal Khul. (Please see accompanying supportive form meditation at the right.) This meditative technique mentions the seven head centers and offers a method of “form meditation" that will accelerate the active movement of energy, indicating an advanced state of consciousness and a conscious interaction with the Christ Self and that of the Spiritual Hierarchy.
The activation and beneficial aspects of what is being presented is a natural process and there is no need to focus on any of the centers. Having the knowledge and the right application of these basic concepts, using the triangles visualization, will assist in the transformation of One’s awareness and lay the foundation for the antahkarana bridge of light.
Each of the seven energy centers in the head and their relationship to the seven greater energy centers located in the etheric body, finding expression in the physical form, are presented below.
Nirvana – Crown Chakra - Nirvana, which means "dissolution." At the top of your brain, it is associated with the annihilation of your ego. The Nirvana chakra is the center in which liberation (moksha) is attained and experienced. Without knowledge of this chakra there is a problem in the liberating energies moving from the front of the head, back and upward (See attached, Three Triangles graphic and information.) to the Nirvana chakra through which the yogi’s spirit rises to merge with the Absolute. Like the Talu chakra, the Nirvana chakra must be prepared and activated before the energies can so move. This is accomplished by using the triangle exercises outlined in the Triangles section of this presentation. The Nirvana Chakra is also called the Jalandhara chakra. Jalandhara means “Holder of the Net” in the sense of perfect mastery of both the subtle energy network of nadis and chakras and of samsara itself, the “net” in which all sentient beings are caught until the Nirvana Chakra is reached in full awareness. Jalandhara also means: “holder of the aggregation,” as it also controls the seven chakras beneath it.
The above description, “holder of the aggregation”, helps the aspirant understand the importance of working with all the centers, without focusing on a specific one, as a continuum of energy that circulates throughout the form. This activity encourages a balanced distribution of energy and a dynamic alignment of the centers.
This head center has an esoteric connection to the solar plexus (Manipura) chakra.
Bindu Kshetram- Bindu means a drop or a point. In fact, as the Yoga tradition says, it is the point of manifestation of our entire physical body, and, likewise, the point of its dissipation. This chakra is important for overall physical, emotional, and spiritual health and vitality of our entire microcosm. Bindu brings a sense of happiness, well-being, purpose, and enthusiasm. Bindu chakra lies at the back of the head about five inches from the top of the skull. When this chakra is not activated, it is like a dot, but when charged, the Bindu chakra energy of vitality and health begins to flow. In the Tantric tradition, Bindu chakra is thought to hold a special nectar (amrit) which helps the yogi reach enlightenment. The Bindu chakra is one of the minor centers of energy located throughout the body and is not included within the traditional seven major chakras but is sometimes called the eighth chakra.
This head center has an esoteric connection to the root (Muladhara) chakra and plays a key role in the rising of the Kundalini.
Ajna Kshetram- Ajna (Sanskrit), or third-eye chakra, is the 6th primary chakra in the body according to Hindu tradition. It is a part of the brain which can be made more powerful through repetition, like a muscle, and it signifies the conscience. While a person's two eyes see the physical world, the third eye is believed to reveal insights about the future. The third eye chakra connects people to their intuitions, gives them the ability to communicate with the world, and helps them receive messages from the past and the future.
Ajna Chakra's kshetram, or superficial location, is between the eyebrows at the bridge of the nose. The location makes it a sacred spot where Hindus apply virtuous spiritual states of consciousness a vermilion Bindi to show respect.
This major chakra is esoterically connected to the Ajna head center.
Indu Chakra -Indu, which means "Moon." In the front part of the brain, it is the seat of your intellect and higher mind. In the Tantric system, this chakra is called the Indu or Chandra ("Moon"); it has sixteen petals, is white in color, and corresponds to various virtuous spiritual states of consciousness that are listed below. 1 acceptance; 2 appreciation; 3 compassion; 4 discernment; 5 empathy; 6 generosity; 7 honor; 8 humility; 9 harmlessness; 10 intimacy; 11 integrity; 12 kindness; 13 love; 14 non-attachment; 15 reverence; 16. truthfulness. Buddhi (intellective mind) is often associated with the energy in this chakra.
This head center has an esoteric connection to the heart (Anahata) Chakra.
Manas Chakra - Manas, which means "sensory mind." In the upper part of Ajna chakra, it is the center of your lower mental vehicle: instincts, impressions, and habits. It is associated with chitta, which represents consciousness or psyche in general, or even the subconscious and memory. Manas chakra, in the upper part of Ajna chakra, is the center of your lower mental vehicle: instincts, impressions and habits. Manas (Mind Chakra) The manas chakra has six petals one each for the five senses and is believed to be the center of the sense awareness - hearing (akasha), touch (air), sight (fire), taste (water) and smell (earth), plus dreams and hallucinations, with the sixth being intuitive sense. Though limited by the physical body, it can experience infinite joy and pain which the other senses are incapable of perceiving. It is the seat of the thinking mind.
This head center has an esoteric connection to the sacral (Svadhisthana) chakra.
Ajna Chakra - Ajna, which means "command center," because it is situated in the glands that regulate the entire endocrine system. The third eye chakra, in the pineal gland/hypothalamus area, seat of the higher self (atman), is responsible for higher wisdom and clairvoyant sight.
This head center has an esoteric connection to its Kshetram the Ajna Kshetram.
Talu Chakra – Alta Major- Talu, the nectar chakra, in medulla oblongata often called the Alta Major, is related to the uvula, the current of pranic energy, and the flow of "soma" (nectar of immortality). The Talu chakra is a kind of switching station as on a railway. Subtle transmuting energies and the Kundalini move up the spine from the root (Muladhara) to the throat (Vishuddha) chakra. Then they need to move forward and reach the Ajna chakra. In the centuries since knowledge of the Talu chakra was almost lost, Sadhakas (Sadhaka is a Sanskrit term which describes someone who follows a certain sadhana, a spiritual practice or way of life, with the aim of achieving a certain goal. The term can be translated as meaning "spiritually adept.") throughout India have expressed frustration with the fact that the energies rise to the Vishuddha and will not move to the Ajna. This is because the way the subtle bodies are constituted the Talu chakra must be prepared and activated before the energies can move forward to the front of the head. But that has usually not been known. This preparation and activation are facilitated by the work outlined in the triangle’s exercises
